A barn conversion of an agricultural outbuilding into a four bedroom dwelling designed to passive house standard.
Design process for the conversion
We were commissioned to design a new four bedroom dwelling that creatively reused the footprint and structure of an open air agricultural barn located in Dundry, North Somerset. The client had early ambitions to build to the highest quality to ensure a low-energy building. From an early stage, we began designing with the idea that we may be working to passive house standard for reducing energy consumption. After a long journey, we have obtained planning and are currently finalising the technical detailing of the building fabric and building services. We expect this project to move into construction later in 2023.
